Irish-born food writer and cook, Niamh Shields, is more widely known as food blogger, eatlikeagirl. She was in the mailstorm of a publicity campaign for her first cookbook, ‘Comfort & Spice’, when she dropped in to Decoder for a photography session.
Recently Mark had a chance to exercise his photographic skills again when food blogger (and author of a new cookbook) Niamh Shields needed some portrait shots. Niamh is one of the UK’s leading food bloggers and writes the Eat Like A Girl blog where she shares her love of cooking, food travel and gastronomic experiences with her readers. She had a couple of hours free from her hectic work and publicity schedule to drop in to our studio and have a date with our resident pig, Madame Bovary. Niamh’s new cookbook, Comfort & Spice, was launched in September to great reviews by publisher Quadrille as part of their ‘New Voices in Food’ series, showcasing some of the UK’s exciting young cookery writers.

Mark has captured Niamh’s sense of fun in these glorious shots. Renowned for her slow-roast pork dishes and crisp crackling she wickedly read some porky passages to Madame Bovary before dashing off to her next food assignment.
